Breathing Sculptures
The form breathes in response to data collected from the breath of a person while they speak in tongues. Their voice is reduced to bass vibrations that are pulsed from inside of the form.
The form inflates, pulses, and deflates over a cycle of 20 minutes. The video is accelerated to a duration of 5 minutes to give an overall sense of the work. Certain elements - such as the sound- are distorted because of the acceleration.
